Drummer reacts to "I Walk On Gilded Splinters" (Live) by Humble Pie
My god. What have I stumbled upon now... what is this? Another rabbit hole? That's not fair. I already have too many.... Thank you to our patron Bill H for this fantastic pick! Wow.... just wow. Did they really just randomly play what the guy in the beginning shouted? And absolutely killed it with a 23 minute improv session on said song? Is that what this is? I can't stop asking questions? Please help?

Thank you to our patron Lee S for another new pick and wow, yeah... I get why it got so much praise in the late 80s. It kinda brings rock back down to earth in a way... unlike most of the 80s fare. The 20yr tour was my first Tull concert (they do not tour much near where I live and had to travel long way). Regrettably I do not recall the play list on the night - I do remember having surprisingly great seats and of course a great time. I think Kelpie was originally for a play, in which D Palmer was heavily involved (and is trying to fund a remake) - and they wrote/performed music for, it. I love that instrumental, it is very evocative, I need to play it more. Shame about you viewing figures, please don't stop (or if you do, then continue listening to Tull privately).

You say how much you miss your father...let me suggest that whenever you are missing your Dad, pour those feelings into Danica and your family. This song was the first in what turned out to be the El Paso trilogy... Pt 1... 'El Paso' (From the gunslingers side). Pt 2... 'Feleena' (From E lPaso) 1966 (Feleena's Story) and Pt 3... El Paso City (from the point of view of a stranger who believes many years on that he could have been the cowboy)... All are more than worthy... 'Feleena' should be your next port of call... Some of my favourites are 'Devil Woman', 'Tonight Carmen', 'Big Iron' & 'They're Hanging Me Tonight... Marty should have a larger audience...

The ‘Band on the Run’ album really saved Paul’s solo career because of Lennon’s fanboys savaging his first few albums (because they wrongly blamed Paul for The Beatles breakup.) It’s still his best-selling album and man, it was drama trying to make it! (Long story lol.) BTW, John was the asshole of The Beatles, Paul was the workhorse (which pissed them off many times.) But like Ringo says, they would have had only 3 albums if it weren’t for Paul pushing them. Protect McCartney at all costs 🫶🏽

Speaking of fanboys... both John and Paul had/have their share of them. Oh, look, I think I see one now ;) By the way, Paul could be an asshole, just like John could be one. Doesn't mean either one of them *were* assholes, generally-speaking. I could be remembering wrongly, but was it (asshole) John who sued all the other Beatles? Oh, wait....

@@lauraallen55 I’m just not a Lennon apologist 🤷🏻‍♀️ And it’s well-documented how his fanboys purposely trashed Paul’s first few solo albums (Jann Wenner ring a bell?) And thank gawd Paul sued them to keep their work because we wouldn’t have all the Beatles content we’ve had since. They all thanked him later, you should too. Oh, and we can thank John and Yoko for Allen Klein 😡 Take care.
